Target Audience
This CME activity is designed to meet the educational needs of dermatologists, pediatric dermatologists, and dermatology advanced providers (NPs and PAs) who are involved in the care and treatment of patients with alopecia areata.
Learning Objectives
After completing the CME activity, learners should be better able to:
- Distinguish between the pathophysiology of alopecia areata and other causes of hair loss
- Use clinical trial data on the efficacy, safety, and durability of JAK inhibitors to recognize patients with AA who may benefit from these therapies
- Identify risk factors for disease progression and poor prognosis in patients with AA
- Develop treatment regimens for patients with AA that consider the psychosocial burden of the disease and associated autoimmune disorders
