Along with a didactic portion and an interactive case-based simulation, this enduring activity focuses on overcoming gaps and improving incorporation of more effective strategies for managing eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). Learn more about EoE pathophysiology, understand the importance of prompt recognition of EoE including characteristic clinical signs and symptoms, and improve knowledge of the clinical profiles of newly approved and emerging biologic options for EoE and their impact on individual treatment algorithms.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of gastroenterologists, specialty nurse practitioners, and physician assistants to ensure optimal patient outcomes in the management of EoE.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Assess the key characteristics of EoE pathophysiology relevant to the identification of treatment targets
- Support a timely and accurate diagnosis of EoE
- Critique current standard of care therapies for EoE, evidence-based management guidelines
- Evaluate the clinical profiles of newly approved and emerging therapeutic options for EoE and their impact on treatment algorithms
- Develop individualized management plans for patients with EoE that reduce the risk of disease progression and improve quality of life
- Facilitate optimal care for patients with EoE by working collaboratively with additional HCPs
