PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This podcast will describe the physical, emotional, social, and economic burdens associated with limb-girdle muscular dystrophy (LGMD) and its impact on caregivers, family, and healthcare systems. Additionally, it will address the rationale for genetic testing and how it contributes to the timely and accurate diagnosis of LGMD.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is intended for general neurologists involved in the management of patients with LGMD.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Assess the impact of illness in adult patients with limb-girdle muscular dystrophy (LGMD).
- Promote timely and accurate diagnosis of LGMD in adults by incorporating genetic testing.
ACCREDITATION STATEMENT
