PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This virtual live activity is designed to focus on the care of veteran patients with lower-risk myelodysplastic syndrome. The live VAVISN series, simulcasts with simulations, and the subsequent enduring replay will help healthcare professionals identify best practices for early diagnosis of myelodysplastic syndrome, apply guideline-informed risk stratification and treatment for managing lower-risk myelodysplastic syndrome, and interpret current clinical data to choose the best frontline and second-line therapeutic options for lower-risk myelodysplastic syndrome.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This program is designed to address the educational needs of the multidisciplinary hematology-oncology team within the Department of Veterans Affairs Health System, including hematologists, pathologists, nurses, and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals working together to address the needs of veteran patients with lower-risk myelodysplastic syndrome.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Identify diagnostic best practices to facilitate early identification of myelodysplastic syndrome
- Incorporate appropriate application of guideline-informed risk stratification and treatment into the management of lower-risk myelodysplastic syndrome
- Interpret current clinical data informing the selection of frontline and second-line therapeutic options in the management of lower-risk myelodysplastic syndrome
