PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This case-based enduring activity will focus on the epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). Patients with EoE are often diagnosed after symptom onset, leading to greater chronic inflammation, and treatment plans are frequently not tailored to individual needs. This activity is intended to help healthcare professionals diagnose EoE earlier and provide individualized treatment based on guidelines, recent clinical data and patient characteristics.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of US-based gastroenterologists, pediatric gastroenterologists, and specialty nurse practitioners and physician assistants involved in the treatment of adult and pediatric patients with eosinophilic esophagitis.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Facilitate an accurate diagnosis of EoE based on its clinical and histologic presentation in pediatric and adult patients
- Evaluate the clinical profiles of available and emerging therapeutic options for children and adults with EoE that target the underlying pathophysiology of the disease
- Design management plans for pediatric and adult patients with EoE that reduce the risk of disease progression and improve quality of life
