PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This activity is primarily designed for U.S.-based members of multidisciplinary teams involved in the management of patients with uncontrolled asthma.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This CME initiative is designed to meet the educational needs of pulmonologists, allergists, immunologists, and otolaryngologists involved in the healthcare of patients with severe uncontrolled asthma.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the program, attendees should be able to:
- Describe the risk factors that predispose military personnel to asthma and best practices to improve clinical outcomes in veterans
- Identify the inflammatory profiles associated with different asthma phenotypes and their relevance in developing novel treatments for severe uncontrolled asthma
- Review evidence supporting the utility of phenotype- and endotype-specific biomarkers in diagnosing, classifying, and controlling severe asthma
- Create treatment plans individualized for patients with severe uncontrolled asthma that account for specific patient factors, evidence-based guidelines, and the clinical profiles of available treatment options
