PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This initiative aims to increase the Department of Veteran’s Affairs multidisciplinary care team’s knowledge of both the efficacy and safety data from clinical trials for patients with small-cell lung cancer and review the NCCN clinical practice guidelines to optimize the outcomes of patients.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This initiative is designed to meet the educational needs of medical oncologists, pulmonologists, oncology nurses, nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals who treat patients with small cell lung cancer, within the Veterans Affairs health system.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Evaluate the efficacy and safety data of systemic regimens in the second-line treatment of patients with extensive-stage SCLC
- Summarize relevant clinical trial data supporting NCCN guidelines for the second-line treatment of patients with extensive-stage SCLC
- Cite relevant management strategies based on second-line efficacy and safety data in small-cell lung cancer
