This online activity will cover the pneumococcal vaccinations in specific populations.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is intended for primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team who evaluate patients for vaccination needs.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After completing in this educational initiative, clinicians should be better able to:
- Appreciate the risk and burden of pneumococcal infections and understand the various serotypes of pneumococcus covered by specific vaccines.
- Summarize clinical data with existing vaccines and vaccines in development in the context of guideline recommendations.
- Evaluate best practices for use of pneumococcal vaccination in a real-world setting, including best practices for overcoming vaccine hesitancy.
