PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This enduring activity will cover the treatment of patients with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD).
TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is intended to meet the educational needs of US-based neurologists, ophthalmologists, neuro-ophthalmologists, optometrists, pharmacists, emergency medicine clinicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who diagnose and manage patients with NMOSD.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After completing in this educational initiative, clinicians should be better able to:
- Establish a diagnosis of NMOSD by using guideline-based and clinical criteria and differentiating it from other autoimmune disorders
- Compare and contrast the mechanisms of action, efficacy, safety, and tolerability of FDA-approved agents for NMOSD
- Leverage the patient’s symptoms, quality of life, comorbidities, and other factors to select NMOSD treatment for the best possible individualized outcomes
