PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This program will focus on recognizing the clinical presentation, symptomatic burden, and patient risk factors associated with Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps (CRSwNP), to improve its timely and accurate diagnosis in the VA setting. In addition, this activity will review the pathology of type 2 inflammation-mediated disease and its mechanism of action. Evidence-based treatment guidelines for the use of biologics will also be evaluated. In addition, this program will highlight the importance of employing a multidisciplinary team to develop optimal patient treatment plans.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of primary care physicians (PCPs) and advanced practice providers (APPs) involved in the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of patients with CRSwNP in the VA setting.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Recognize the CRSwNP clinical presentation features, symptomatic burden, and patient risk factors to improve the timely and accurate diagnosis of CRSwNP in the VA primary care setting
- Explain the CRSwNP type 2 inflammation-mediated disease pathology, mechanisms of action (MoAs) and clinical evidence supporting the use of biologics for CRSwNP, and the evidence-based treatment guidelines for the use of biologics in patients with CRSwNP
- Describe the importance of employing multidisciplinary team (MDT) and shared decision making (SDM) approaches to develop personalized treatment plans for VA patients with CRSwNP
